The Ruger American Rifle® Standard is a bolt-action rifle built with innovative designs and modern materials to provide shooters with a practical and cost-effective firearm, meant for serious hunting. Ruger uses a 3-lug bolt design on the American Rifle with a 70° bolt lift, providing plenty of clearance to keep fingers and gloves from getting between the bolt handle and the riflescope. A 2-position tang safety is easily accessible and quick to operate by both right- and left-handed shooters; the bolt can be cycled for loading and unloading the rifle with the safety engaged. A cocking indicator at the end of the bolt can be seen and felt. Ruger designed the Marksman Adjustable™ trigger for the American Rifle to be user adjustable for weight-of-pull. The Marksman trigger is light and crisp, allowing for precision shooting in the field. The Ruger American utilizes a detachable, ultra-reliable rotary magazine that fits flush with the bottom of the stock, adding to the rifle's ease of handling. The stock is constructed from rugged composite with grooves and texturizing on the pistol grip and fore-end, providing a solid, non-slip grip in any hunting environment. The stock features molded-in, Power Bedding® recoil/bedding blocks to rigidly attach the barreled action to the stock and free-float the barrel. A soft rubber recoil pad absorbs recoil considerably. The American Bolt-Action Rifle comes with a drilled and tapped receiver, and scope bases. Federal Firearms Laws prevent us from shipping firearms directly to you. Instead, we ship any firearm purchased on our site to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) Dealer in your area.

Here’s how it works:

• Make your purchase online, ensuring you are following all state and local laws. For a listing of these laws, please visit the following link: Gun Laws.

• Find an FFL dealer in your area that will accept the transfer of your firearm. Most dealers, which include sporting goods stores, pawn shops, gunsmiths and gun stores, are willing to do this for a nominal fee. If you have a dealer in mind, please enter their name and telephone number at checkout. You can find a list of dealers by zip code here.

• Ask your dealer to email us a copy of their valid and signed FFL form. Emailed copies must be sent to sales@bradleybarter.com.

• IMPORTANT: Please make sure your dealer includes your order number and name with the email. 

• You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a handgun, stockless shotgun, complete AR or AK receiver, or stripped lower receiver. You must also be a legal resident of the state in which you wish to transfer the firearm

• Once we have received the FFL, we will ship your order to your dealer and you will receive a confirmation of shipment via email.

• Once your dealer receives your firearm, they will contact you and you can complete all the necessary paperwork and pick up your firearm.

• NOTE: We DO NOT Ship Firearms/Ammo/Magazines To: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC.

Store Pick-up:

In the Cleveland, TN area? You can pick your purchase up at our Retail Store. Simply select Store Pick-up under Shipping method at checkout. Your item will be available for pickup immediately.

A background check will be completed in person through the TBI, There is a $10.00 fee (Please bring valid ID). Once the background check is approved, you are free to take your firearm home!
